Bratislava, May 1 (TASR) - The first gay pride parade in Slovakia's history that is set to take place in Bratislava on May 22 is socially unacceptable and the co-ruling Slovak National Party (SNS) will respond to it appropriately, SNS leader Jan Slota has told TASR in an interview.
"We'll show them here, on streets of Slovakia's capital, that they're an undesirable element here. I'll personally come to spit at them," announced Slota.
"I've personally nothing against ill persons with congenital homosexuality. I'm only convinced that they shouldn't be given that much room to make them just 'in'," said Slota.
"It has nothing to do either with morals, Christian traditions or a society based on the family. I'm firmly convinced that it's sick," said Slota.
The SNS chief stressed that homosexuals shouldn't be persecuted, however. "But SNS is strongly opposed to making propaganda for them," he said.
Slota went on to say that if homosexuality is acknowledged, Slovaks will die out within two generations. "If somebody wants to have sex with their mate at home, let them have it. But I don't want my kids to look at those lunatics," added Slota.
Homosexual activist Julius Kolenic from the initiative Inakost (Otherness) in reaction to Slota's statements told TASR that politicians inciting hatred should be driven out of the scene.
